How Much Electricity Do Your Appliances & Gadgets Use?

There are many simple ways to save energy and cut the amount that you are spending, but many people don’t actually know what they are actually spending on energy and how much different appliances in their home cost to run in the first place.

If you’re not sure what you’re spending, it can be hard to get excited about the savings you could make. Here we show you how to running cost of many household appliances, allowing you to make like for like comparisons between them, and quickly work out how much you spend on energy to run the different appliances in your home.

To keep things simple, all costs are based on a price of 12p per unit (kilowatt hour) of electricity. We also show you the running cost for the appliance when used for 1 hours, 10 hours and 100 hours. You can then quickly work out running costs specific to you based by multiplying the hourly cost by the number of hours that you use your appliances per day, week, month or year.

Having a good awareness of the prices that you pay for the energy to run your household appliances allows you to be much smarter when it comes to running your home. It will be much easier to keep track and make small changes to your habits that can add up to some big savings on your energy bills.

The good news when it comes to your appliances is that newer models are much more energy efficient than ever.

Please note all figures are based on an electricity unit price of £0.12 pence per unit. Annual Running Cost’s are based on estimated number of daily hours stated.
